This beautiful line of furniture we make using Old Recycled Teak from Java.
You can see by the thickness and width of the wood in these pieces that it's old wood. It's no longer possible to buy wood this thick as the trees needs to be at least 80 years old and plantation wood these days is never more than 40 years old (it's mostly 30).
Many of the bookcases and other items with the bent forms are made from parts of the old buffalo ploughs they used (and still do) in the rice paddies. |
