Outer Islands Baskets

Bamboo is stripped and cut into narrow lengths to weave these intricate baskets, using the same methods as the tribes people have in these remote areas for hundreds of years.

The smaller boxes are a combination of bark, leaves and bamboo, and were originally used for storing medicinal herbs by the jungle tribes of Irian Jaya and Borneo.
