Outer Islands Bamboo Items

This collection of boxes and receptacles are copied from the original herb and medicine containers used by the tribes people of Borneo.

The long thin engraved pieces were originally used for sending messages written on bark which were then rolled in the bamboo for protection, and taken by runners from one village to the next.
